"...With a series of art works employing recycled materials and
detritus retrieved from building sites, Grossman ruptures the notion
of a "frame". Discarded items, by being incorporated in her "frame",
take on a new and intuitive character. Among influences that gave rise
to this work was the traditional Japanese aesthetic of Wabi Sabi, which
disposes with the idea of wholeness and perfection, seeing beauty
in the simple, the transient, the mundane, the crude, the old and the unpopular."
"...Grossman, a sculptor / painter / photographer with several successful
international exhibitions to her credit, works with basic raw materials
(wood, metal, glass), knowing how to transform these into... art!"
"...Her original approach, which is direct and exact and devoid of artifice,
allows the viewer to see the "skeleton", the process of construction.
Her work has great depth and wit, and demonstrates new angles on,
and unconventional attitudes toward, form and color."
